Supervised Practice Contacts

To become a psychologist you will need an honours bachelors degree, a masters degree and then a doctoral degree in psychology, which takes a minimum of eight years. To become a clinician, you must complete an internship and then apply to for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.  To complete the registration process, a year of supervised practice and written and oral examinations are required in your area(s) of declared competence.
 
To become a psychological associate you will need an honours bachelors degree and a masters degree, which takes a minimum of six years.  To become a clinician, you must apply for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, a process which requires 4 years of work experience and one year of supervised practice. Find out more about registration from the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO). In some provinces, you can be registered to practice as a psychologist with either a masters or doctoral degree.
