MASTERCLASS: ADVANCED INTERVENTIONS IN EMOTION FOCUSED THERAPY TO RESOLVE COMPLEX UNFINISHED BUSINESS

This workshop is designed for therapists, supervisors, and trainers who use the unfinished business intervention in Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and want to learn more advanced micro-skills and techniques to work with clients who have unfinished business that is particularly challenging to resolve. This workshop will also be helpful to supervisors and trainers in EFT who want to acquire more in-depth micro-skills and learn to recognize less obvious micro-markers and related targeted micro-interventions.

You will learn:

•  Steps to transform unfinished business with a significant other when there are also current interpersonal issues.
• How to combine the interventions of “age regression”, “Imaginal re-entry & transformation”, and “self-soothing” to transform maladaptive emotion schemes.
• How to adapt unfinished business interventions to work with emotion schemes of fear related to trauma.
• How to work with stuck points in the process of resolution (examples: lack of softening in the significant other, clients who have difficulty doing the intervention, clients who don’t have access to memories).
• How to recognize micro-markers and use targeted interventions.
• How to facilitate 5 types of resolution in UFB.
• Skills to reconsolidate and integrate emotions related to unfinished business.
