Introduction to the Journey
Becoming a psychologist is a rewarding journey that includes key steps from undergraduate studies to licensure. Here’s an overview of the process:
- Complete an Undergraduate Degree in Psychology: Your foundational step into the field.
- Apply to Graduate Programs: Pursue a Master’s and/or Doctoral degree in a CPA-accredited program.
- Engage in Supervised Practice: Gain hands-on experience in clinical settings to prepare for professional practice.
- Pass Licensure Exams: To become licensed, you’ll complete the Examination for Professional Practice in Psychology (EPPP), the Ontario Jurisprudence and Ethics Exam, and an Oral Exam after supervised practice.
- Register with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO): After fulfilling all required steps, you can apply for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO).
