About Me
How are you really feeling? Our emotions can feel out of reach, confusing or overwhelming.
I am the clinic director of EmotionMatters Psychology where we believe emotions are part of the normal human experience. When we start to feel our emotions in a safe and supportive environment, we can begin to understand how we truly feel and open ourselves to healing, growth and change.
Our skilled, compassionate and inclusive psychologists and therapists get to know you as a person and your specific needs and collaborate with you to tailor your therapy to help you on your journey towards a stronger, healthier, and more confident you.
We offer high quality evidence-based treatment to help you build emotional awareness and coping strategies to grow and change. Treatment approaches include: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Anti-Oppressive Care.
Our therapists are trained with a special focus on EFT. I am certified as a EFT Supervisor and Therapist by Dr. Leslie Greenberg, the creator of EFT, and the International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy (isEFT). Dr. Choi has co-facilitated EFT trainings, co-authored a chapter in the Clinical Handbook of Emotion-Focused Therapy and has published research and presented at international conferences on EFT.
We can assist you with a wide range of concerns, including: Life transitions, Relationship issues, Family issues, Work issues, Stress management, Self-criticism, Perfectionism, Low self-esteem, Depression, Anxiety, Grief and loss, Trauma and PTSD, Emotional regulation difficulties, Disordered eating, Cultural issues, and 2slgbtqia+ issues.
