About Me
Dr. Paula Miceli is a Member of The College of Psychologists of Ontario and received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from York University in Toronto, Ontario. In 2015, she began offering psychotherapy services in private practice settings. Her areas of practice include clinical and health psychology, with adults as her primary client group.
Dr. Miceli is skilled in treating a variety of concerns, including anxiety, depression, stress, difficulties in relationships, personality disorders, and psychological trauma. She has worked closely with individuals who seek mind-body approaches to cope with health concerns (eg., immune, infertility, endocrine, cancer) and to cope with a loved one's mental health condition or addiction.
Dr. Miceli's orientation is informed by the interpersonal theory and approach of Dr. Lorna Smith Benjamin, which is anchored in the traditions of psychodynamics and attachment. Other approaches are also employed, such as cognitive-behavioural and humanistic/client-centered approaches, to meet client needs and as recommended by evidence-based treatment guidelines.
