She is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Since 2011, she works in neuropsychology with a clientele of children and adults with various neurodevelopmental disorders (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, learning disabiliy, language disorders, developmental coordination disorder, etc.).
Dr Blain offers psychotherapy online
1) to cope with anxiety,
2) improve mood and
3) coach parents to manage the emotions and behaviours of their child.
Dr. Blain’s approach to therapy is collaborative. She uses a variety of evidence-based treatments tailored to the client’s objectives such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
Her doctoral dissertation focused on communication skills (pragmatics) and regulation of new and complex behaviors (executive functions) of children aged 4 years old and the relationship between the two. Her research led to publications, including a book chapter on child language development in childcare setting and a scientific article on the role of executive functions in the development of communication.
She began her practice in a clinic in Montreal specializing in neuropsychology (Cénop). In 2013, she continued her private practice in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
