About Me

Dr. Norouzian completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from York University and completed her pre-doctoral residency at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH). She has provided therapy services since 2017 and works with individuals and couples.

Dr. Norouzian's therapy style is warm, empathetic, and personalized to the unique needs of each individual or couple. She emphasizes safety and nonjudgement while challenging clients to gain insight into themselves and change patterns that interfere with their goals and values. She collaboratively works with clients on their goals, which can include processing painful emotions and experiences such as trauma or other difficult formative events. She strives to understand the nuances of each person’s experience with thoughtful consideration of intersecting issues of race, gender, sexuality, class, and power.

Dr. Norouzian offers a client-centred and integrative therapeutic approach that flexibly draws from several evidence-based approaches: Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, and self-compassion.

Dr. Norouzian is also trained in Emotion-Focused Couples Therapy and DBT-informed couples intervention. She helps couples navigate conflict, emotional injuries, and other challenges with communication and intimacy.

Dr. Norouzian has extensive experience helping individuals with anxiety (e.g., panic, worry, social anxiety), trauma (e.g., post-traumatic stress disorder, complex trauma), depression, personality disorders (e.g., borderline, obsessive-compulsive, narcissistic), and alcohol/substance use difficulties. This has included supporting clients with relationship problems, emotion regulation difficulties, disordered eating (e.g., binge eating), low self-worth, shame, and self-criticism.
