About Me
I am a Clinical and Health Psychologist especially interested in working with people with concerns related to: anxiety, trauma, and mood-related conditions, workplace issues, life direction concerns, as well as lifestyle and psychological adjustments to chronic health problems (e.g. chronic pain, IBS, substance use). My approach involves placing your present concerns within the context of your personality, personal history, and goals and values. I focus first on deep listening and developing a shared, collaborative understanding of your concerns.
My approach integrates cognitive-behavioral and humanistic-experiential theory and research. Through these I emphasize becoming aware of and contextualizing your lived experiences and identities. We would work together to bring into focus patterns in your feelings, thoughts, beliefs, memories, actions, decision-making, and social relationships.
Groups I am especially interested in include young adults, racial minority members, and Muslims. However, I note that the human condition is too complex to be reduced to any demographic or identity category, and that suffering touches us all. I humbly extend an invitation to all who seek to alleviate their suffering and become who you are meant to be.
