About Me

As a clinical psychologist, it is my privilege to help you better understand yourself in order to lead a meaningful & fulfilling life.

I am passionate about working with individuals who experienced various forms of trauma: early childhood physical, sexual, emotional abuse and/or neglect, war-related trauma, and occupational trauma. I also have extensive experience working with individuals who experience various forms of anxiety.

I have expertise in the assessment, treatment and research of eating disorders. In addition to completing my dissertation project on an innovative treatment for eating disorders (i.e., EFT), I completed post-doctoral fellowship through the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute at The Regional Centre for the Treatment of Eating Disorders. These experiences enable me to have a comprehensive approach to address your goals, help guide you to understand your emotions, improve relationship to your body and yourself, build a more intuitive approach to food, eating, and lifestyle, and improve relationships with loved ones.

I have extensive clinical training in Emotion-Focused as well as Psychodynamic-Interpersonal Psychotherapies. This, coupled with a personal interest and practice in yoga and mindfulness provide a comprehensive and compassionate framework from which to understand your individual concerns and address unhelpful relationship patterns. Depending on the presenting concern, I also integrate Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Somatic Experiencing Therapy, Brainspotting Therapy (Phase I, II, & IV, Expansion Brainspotting), Reconsolidation Therapy, and Cognitive & Behavioural Therapy.

I completed my Ph.D in Counselling & Clinical Psychology at the University of Toronto (OISE) and have trained in various hospital and treatment centres across Canada before founding Ivanova Psychology & Associates.

I am registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. I am a member of the Canadian Psychological Association and the Ottawa Academy of Psycho
